Among all the business and economic cycles that affect the Commercial Vehicle Industry, one constant stands out: People Are The Key to the success of any enterprise!

The recruiting of these special professionals faces  a headwind created as the most desirable are heavily engaged  with their current organizations, and are excited about the challenges, opportunities  and associated rewards within their current companies.  

The recruiting challenge ramped up several years ago, when the national unemployment rate was 7.3%, but plummeted to 1-2% for high demand, degreed talent……..Demand for the truly unique "A" Level Executives, combined with the apparent shrinkage in top talent, makes it  increasingly difficult to attract and hire top tier, high impact professionals.

The difficulty is increased even more when you realize that they may not be the ones with the best resumes, or with appropriate embedded key words …..or those working for well-known companies….. or the best educated.……  

They’re the ones who are currently performing at a very high level and are quite satisfied in their jobs…... They’re not reading ads, postings or social media recruiting blogs aimed at job seekers.  

Consequently, these traditional “one size fits all” methods severely limit the ability to reach the best talent in the Commercial Vehicle Industry. 

Most recruiters adhere to these traditional methods of recruiting – the one size fits all approach - and only a small percentage can truly be labeled “expert” at creating candidates and opportunities that others cannot.  

A LinkedIn survey revealed that 83% of employed members were unlikely to consider switching jobs unless directly contacted by a recruiter or an employee they've worked closely with in the past.

The key point is that traditional recruiting methods (no matter how technologically trendy they are) will likely have a low success rate in attracting and hiring high performing managers and executives ……...
